STONE MOUNTAIN, GA — DeKalb County police say a suspect is in custody following a deadly shooting in Stone Mountain.

Investigators say 42-year-old Francis Whyte remained on the scene after the shooting on Pennybrook Lane. He was later taken into custody and booked into the DeKalb County Jail on a malice murder charge.

The name of the victim has not yet been released, and detectives say the motive behind the shooting remains under investigation.
