English Nick
English Nick takes care of the River Workforce Monday through Friday 10 am to 3pm.
Nick grew up in the south of England in the village of Stourton in the county of Wiltshire which is located about 100 miles south west of London.
His dad was a shepherd on a huge estate so that meant a lot of sheep herding for Nick as kid along with all the other farming chores. It also meant that Nick was in the thick of all those great British rock bands and he would have the chance to check out some of his rock heroes live at gigs and festivals all around the UK. Not only would he go see his idols perform but he would sing in some bands of his own playing pubs around the south.
Relocating to Atlanta in 1996 (yes just in time for the Olympics) Nick soon realized that sheep herding was not an Olympic sport and that there was a lot more rock on the radio over here than in his homeland, he would soon get involved in radio in November 1999.
After a few gigs at other Atlanta radio stations Nick landed at 97.1 The River in July of 2011.
If you need to know anything about classic rock or fronting your own band or herding sheep and milking cows English Nick is the man.
When Nick is not on the radio you can find him lending at his tea house, Dr Bombay’s Underwater Tea Party (www.drbombays.com) that he co owns in Candler Park and also as the host of Metalsome Live Band Karaoke at the 10 High in Virginia Highlands.
