1 dead, 1 injured in northwest Atlanta shooting, police say

ATLANTA — Police are investigating after a shooting that left one man dead and another man injured early Sunday morning in northwest Atlanta.

Officers responded to 224 Chappell Rd. after reports of a shooting around 12:11 a.m. Upon arrival, officers found a 26-year-old man with gunshot wounds and a 28-year-old man with a gunshot wound.

The 26-year-old man was rushed to the hospital. The current extent of the victim’s injuries and his identity is unknown.

The 28-year-old man was pronounced dead on the scene, police say. The identity of the victim was not released.

Police are investigating what led up to the shooting.
