COWETA COUNTY, GA — Investigators are working to piece together what happened after the bodies of two elderly women were discovered overnight inside a home in Coweta County.
Deputies say they responded to a 911 call at a residence off Little Road, south of Highway 16, where they found both victims. A suspect remained on the scene and was taken into custody without incident.
According to Coweta County jail records, 25-year-old Brandon Christopher Jones is charged with two counts of murder.
Police found the two women, aged 82 and 79, already dead with Jones, who was saying things that led police to believe he is involved in the incident.
A mental health team was also called out to the home.
Officials are saying the two older women are relatives of Jones, but are still investigating for a motive.
Deputies say the victims died from injuries consistent with a physical assault.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is assisting in the investigation.
