ATLANTA — Police are searching for the person who shot and killed a teenager in southeast Atlanta early Monday morning.

Officers responded to a home on Mulberry Row near Browns Mill Road after reports of a shooting.

Investigators say the 16-year-old boy came home late, and his mother’s “significant other” thought the teen was an intruder trying to break in and and fatally shot the teen.

The identity of the victim and shooter was not released. The shooting remains under investigation.
