COLLEGE PARK, GA — The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is looking into an officer-involved shooting that happened Tuesday night in a College Park neighborhood.
The agency says College Park police were called to a reported shooting at an apartment on West Fayetteville Road. Police blocked off the area for several hours as investigators collected evidence.
Some residents reported they were unable to return to their homes during the investigation.
The suspect, now identified as 31-year-old Dwight Robinson-Fikes of Jonesboro, was seen walking away from the building.
Robinson-Fikes reportedly ran from an officer and did not comply with commands to drop his gun,
The officer then shot him.
The suspect was taken to a hospital and is in stable condition.
