ATLANTA — Police in Atlanta are investigating an early Saturday morning shooting at a gas station.

Officers responded to 548 Northside Dr. after reports of a shooting around 4:30 a.m.

Investigators say a male victim was leaving the store and when he returned to his car that was parked at a gas pump, a suspect pointed a gun at him and began shooting. The victim was rushed to the hospital after being shot in his leg.

Police say the suspect then stole the victim’s vehicle and drove off. Officers located the stolen car near the 200 block of Forsyth Street. The suspect tried running from police but was later arrested after being hit by a car.

Police say the suspect faces pending charges.
