DEKALB COUNTY, GA — A 59-year-old man has died while in custody at the DeKalb County jail.

Rodney Garrick of Lithonia was found unresponsive in the facility.

On-site medical personnel attempted life-saving aid, but Garrick was pronounced dead after arriving at the hospital.

DeKalb County Sheriff Melody Maddox says an investigation is underway, but there’s no evidence of foul play.

It’s the 8th in-custody death at the DeKalb County jail this year.
