ATLANTA — Atlanta police are investigating a shooting that left a 49-year-old man injured early Friday morning.

Officers responded to the 700 block of Metropolitan Parkway after reports of a shooting around 12:11 a.m.

Upon arrival, officers found the victim with a gunshot wound. He was rushed to the hospital.

Investigators say the victim was involved in an altercation with “a known male” that escalated to the shooting.

The extent of the victim’s injury is unknown.
