Atlanta-based CDC has new acting director

ATLANTA — The Atlanta-based CDC has a new acting director.

National Institute of Health Director Dr. Jay Hhattacharya is set to replace Dr. Jim O’Neill.

O’Neill served as acting director of the CDC from August of 2025 until he stepped down last week.
