ATLANTA — A federal investigation is underway after a video circulating on social media showed a self-driving vehicle passing a stopped school bus in Atlanta.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says based on the millions of miles driven by Waymo vehicles in Atlanta and other cities, officials are looking into their performance around stopped school buses.

Officials are also investigating how the system complies with school bus traffic safety laws.
