ATLANTA, GA — The Georgia Department of Public Health has confirmed another case of measles on Friday afternoon.

This reported case was detected in an unvaccinated person.

This infected person is a family member of a person who was the fourth confirmed case of measles, back in May.

That previous case was picked up outside the country.

No new cases of measles have been reported outside the family.

This is the fifth reported case of measles in Georgia in 2025.

In 2024, there were six reported cases of measles in the state.
