DEKALB COUNTY, GA — Police are investigating after a pedestrian was hit and killed on a busy metro Atlanta road early Monday morning.

Police responded to Covington Highway near South Indian Creek Drive in DeKalb County just before 2 a.m. after a pedestrian was hit.

The victim died from her injuries. The identity of the victim was not released.

The driver remained at the scene, police said.
