BUFORD, GA — A Texas woman pleads guilty to cheating a Buford couple out of their savings in an elaborate banking scam.

26-year-old Audrey Michelle Townsend is sentenced to serve five years in prison for ripping off Gloria and Gary Moss.

She convinced the couple to give her banking information and transfer their money to a bank account she controlled.

In 2024, Chase Bank returned the full amount of the lost money to the Moss’s, nearly $50,000.
