Flood Watch in effect for northern Metro Atlanta through Thursday morning

Tracking the heavy rain returning to Metro Atlanta through Thursday morning A Flood Watch is in effect for Metro Atlanta as an additional 2 to 3 inches of rainfall is expected this week.

So far, February 2025 has trended drier than average with only 0.16 inches of rainfall for the first seven days, however this week is a much different situation!

A few rounds of heavy rain will move through Metro Atlanta over the next 48 hours, with the first round arriving today in the form of spotty rain showers that may produce some brief yet heavy downpours.

The animation below shows the Futurecast Radar for today through Thursday morning.

As much as 2 to 3 inches of rainfall is possible for the Metro Atlanta area through Thursday morning, with the higher amounts likely falling closer to the North Georgia Mountains.

Metro Atlanta will receive a break from the rain on Thursday and Friday, but a second wave of heavy rain will impact the area on Saturday and Sunday.
