January 2025 is on track to finish out as the 35th coldest January on record for Metro Atlanta, with an average temperature of 40.2 degrees for the month.
However, February is starting out much, much warmer, after a round of rain showers move through!
Tracking Friday’s Rain
Cloudy skies have returned to the Metro Atlanta area, and soon rain showers will also sweep through the region.
The animation below illustrates the Futurecast hour-by-hour radar imagery for today. Overall, rain showers will move through the Metro area between 12pm and 6pm.
As much as 0.25″ to 0.5″ of rainfall is expected as this line of rain showers moves through this evening.
Feeling Like Early Spring!
The rain is associated with a weak cold front that won’t pack much of a punch with regards to the temperatures!
Saturday will feature sunny skies, and morning lows will rise into the mid 60s through the afternoon.
The Groundhog may say it feels like winter Sunday morning with sunrise temperatures in the 40s.
However, Sunday afternoon will feel like Early Spring as temperatures rise in to the upper 60s!
Temperatures will continue to climb next week, reaching the mid 70s for the first half of next week -- this is trending about 20 degrees above average for early February.
